What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy looks at your "occupations." This isn't limited to just your job! Rather, occupations are all the things you occupy your time with. This includes the things you need, want or are expected to do and encompasses tasks ranging from doing school work to participating in leisure activities.

Taking care of yourself is more than just your physical health, and the things you do in your everyday life impact your quality of life. We believe that having good balance in your life will facilitate your success at Caltech and your endeavours after graduation.

If you're looking to make a healthier lifestyle change, then we're your resource!

By its nature, occupational therapy's scope is broad, but the most common topics students have brought up include:

  • Time management
  • Making time for more meaningful activities
  • Coping with stress and anxiety
  • Sleep
  • Planning and organization

Regardless of how much support you feel you need, don't hesitate to schedule an appointment. Whether you need support now or are simply preparing for the future, please feel free to utilize occupational therapy as a resource.
